2012 FFARA Season Around the Corner!
It seems like yesterday the final horn sounded at Alliance Bowl IV with a 106 points thriller.
2012 is basically here as requests for pre-season game officials have been received. After all Soldiers always play on Veterans
Day!
The Florida Football Alliance has kept its comittment to excellence by looking to add or keep only quality
teams that are sound, comitted and financially fit. While teams appreciate knowing that they will play all their
games in a season, those of us at the FFARA also appreciate knowing that when we have agreed to work a game setting our work,
family and personal lives aside that a game will be played.
This season the FFARA will debut black officiating pants with a white stripe as were adopted by the NCAA and
many high school association throughout Florida. The rest of the uniform remains the same as you can see from A.R. Barrington
in the picture right, fresh off his appearance in Alliance Bowl IV modeling the new look on a beautiful South Florida day.
FFA is already off and rolling with the International Bowl last weekend at Seacrest Soccer Complex in Delray
Beach where the FFA All Stars played a team of European All Stars. It was a great weekend for the visiting team filled
with activities around the game and they even took in the Dolphins-Eagles Game on Sunday. The season is set to kick
off Saturday, January 21, 2012, however we will be providing officials again for National Bowl Weekend in Deland, Florida
as in previous years.
We had hope that dues could have returned to $40 after initially implementing Arbiter and while our enrollment
by FFARA and SFFOA was enough to warrant a savings on Arbiter, the reality of insurance premiums for a larger membership seems
to have taken their place. Season 5 of the FFA is here!
